SUNDAYS - 10 AM - Casual and Contemporary -JESUS CALLS FOUR - The first four people that Jesus calls to follow him are Fishermen. Mark tells the story this way:

…. As Jesus walks along the shore of Lake Galilee, he sees two fishermen, Simon and his brother Andrew, catching fish with a net. Jesus says to them, "Come with me, and I will teach you to catch people." At once they leave their nets and go with him….. Mark 1:16-18

It is interesting that when Jesus invites the first four guys to follow Him Jesus makes his agenda for them clear right up front. “When you follow me,” Jesus says, ”I am going to turn you into something that you are not already.” 

We are going to see through this series that when you follow Jesus, His number one desire is to make us fish for people.  We would rather opt to be more disciplined. We would opt to be kinder or have a better attitude or surely to be happier. Lots of things that we’d like Him to make us but not to fish for people.

Jesus goes into Galilee, proclaiming the good news of God. “The time has come,” he said. “The kingdom of God has come near. Repent and believe the good news!” Mark 1:14-15

God is doing something significant now and if you are not looking you will miss it.
